Case Study

MECHLOK SWIVELS FOR 18 HOURS GAINING 4,000FT OF SANDFACE PRODUCTION

The Background

  • ERD well located offshore United Kingdom
  • Screens run into 7,000ft of horizontal open hole, with a TD of 13,000ft and a TVD of 3,000ft
  • High frictions in previous wells indicated conventional tripping would not get screens to target depth
  • Modelled data suggested swivelling would be required for the final 5,000ft

The Result

  • Over 4,000ft of sandface production gained
  • 7,000ft+ of screens placed across the production zone
  • MechLOK swivel operated for over 18 hours
  • Utilisation of the MechLOK swivel above the screens resulted in an average weight gain of over 48klbs
