The Tool
The TurboCaser, a pass-through turbine-powered reaming system, enables casings and intermediate liners to land at target depth in even the most complex wells.
How it Works
The TurboCaser supplies high speed rotation power of a reamer shoe, independent of casing string rotation. A pass-through turbine, the reamer nose can be drilled through in minutes. This allows the same bottom-hole assembly to immediately drill ahead through the next section.
Prior to rapid drill out, our advanced locking mechanisms ensure reaming shoes do not rotate, meaning adequate safety measures are in place. A dedicated drill out trip is not required.

9-5/8” TURBOCASER REAMS 707 FT IN 33 HOURS
An offshore ERD well in Abu Dhabi faced challenges with soft, unstable formations and high inclination, leading to four sidetracks, a lost BHA, and multiple stuck pipe events. Despite these difficulties, 10,000 feet of 9-5/8” casing was successfully run with the help of our 9-5/8” TurboCaser, which navigated tight spots and landed at the target depth in just 33 hours — a 98% time reduction, saving the operator $13.7 million. Cementing and drill-out were completed in 1.5 hours.

9-5/8” TURBOCASER REACHES TRAGET DEPTH OF 16,690 FT
As a follow up to the successful running of a 9-5/8” TurboCaser™ turbine powered drillable reamer shoe on an onshore well, major Middle East Operator utilised the TurboCaser™ technology on an ERD well.
Due to formation issues in the original hole, a side track was drilled and the 9-5/8” TurboCaser™ was deployed and successfully reamed 260 ft in 11 hours, reaching a final planned target depth of 16,690 ft.
